I purchased a 2012 Redline Metro Sport new for $525 last month and have since added front and rear racks, fenders, a Brooks B-17, reflective tape, literal bells, whistles, and everything else to make it my primary touring rig and commuting load-bearer. I was reluctant to load up an aluminum frame and hit the mountains, but so far, so good! The gearing range is definitely not enough for climbing mountains, so I've swapped out the 30t chainring for a 28.
