The perks of greener communities...

A recent federal government report states that spending on walking and biking projects have more than doubled to over 1.2 billion dollars during Barack Obama's first year in office. Obama's "livability Initiative" promotes biking and walking trails along with other forms of public transportation in more densely populated areas where a more "green" existence can be achieved through improved trails, walk ways and other forms of public transportation. The goal of the "livability Initiative" is to promote livable communities, improve the quality of life for more Americans and create more transportation choices that serve the needs of individual communities. Fostering the concept of livability in transportation projects will stimulate America’s neighborhoods to become safer, healthier and more vibrant.
Sounds like a winner to me...
